Per Manchester City’s official Twitter account, the club is looking into whether the handle @MarioBBalotelli is actually Mario, finally joining the Twitter revolution. We don’t need to tell you that Mario on Twitter would be the realization of a dream for so many. Several million people will now rush to learn Italian just so they don’t miss any pearls of tweeted wisdom from Super Mario.
We are currently waiting to confirm whether @MarioBBalotelli is a genuine account or not and will let you know ASAP. Thanks #MCFC

If it’s not him, our apologies. We just got a little excited.
If it is, the over/under on the number of combined head explosions and heart attacks currently happening at Carrington is twelve.
So far, the possible Mario account has announced himself in Italian, thanked the Man City account for looking into the legitimacy of the @MarioBBalotelli account, retweeted someone who thanked Mario for a “Toastie Maker”, and asked what “RT” means (which 19 people have retweeted). We’re off to a flying start.
What does ‘RT’ mean?

*UPDATE*
Here’s the word from the club. Curses.
Sorry to disappoint you all, but we’ve had it confirmed by Mario himself that @MarioBBalotelli is a fake account #MCFC
