When Europeans criticize American passion for the beautiful game, we can look them in the eye and defend our homeland, profess our love and knowledge of the sport, and point to the millions of informed, engaged fans that follow the sport in this country. And then they can show us videos like this, and obnoxiously say the word “SAWKKER” in exaggerated accents and we kind of have to admit that maybe they have a point.
