He is Zlatan

Let the ‘I AM ZLATAN’ App Take You Deep Into the World Of Zlatan

Jason Davis, February 17, 2012

You can’t get a printed copy of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s new biography, humbly titled I AM ZLATAN, in English. Luckily, if you have an iPad, there’s an app for that. For a completely reasonable 18.99 USD, dive into the world of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, from the story of his growing up on the wrong side of the Swedish tracks, to the meanings behind his vast collection of tattoos.

The app includes:

  • 28 chapters
  • 33 GEO stories
  • 130 photos
  • 16 scenes
  • 30 videos

Thankfully for those of us unsure what a “Geo story” might be, the I AM ZLATAN website provides some clarification. Geo stories appear to be short anecdotes from Zlatan tied to various locations in which he did something amazing, with a map interface. Thirty-three seems like a low number considering how generally amazing Zlatan’s life happens to be, but let’s not forget just how stunning a value this app truly is.

We can only assume (safely, I think) that among the 130 photos included in the app are several depicting Zlatan going Zlatan all up in somebody’s face and kicking various items Zlatan-style. Thankfully, we can be sure that there is at least one photo of Zlatan relaxing at home in the ZlatanCave. And there’s a dog. Zlatan’s state of dress, just in the teaser photos, ranges from “topless” to “fancy.”

Zlatan sits around at home in three piece custom-tailored suit. This is why he is Zlatan, and why his app costs $18.99.

The aforementioned tattoo stories are in there, whatever the “scenes” are, plus videos which probably include Zlatan looking into the camera and declaring that there is “only one Zlatan” in various settings (like in the trailer above), as well as a timeline of Zlatan’s rise to the top of the soccer world that allows you to jump to the pertinent chapter in the book with one tap. There’s also a review of the many styles of boots Zlatan has worn over the years. You know, if you’re into that kind of thing. Ahem.

On a more serious note, the app looks incredibly cool from a new technology perspective.

If you’re not yet sold on the brilliance of I AM ZLATAN and the quality of the app, we leave you with the thoughts of several famous people touched by the story of Zlatan.

This book is sensational. This book is dynamite. This book will change Sweden.

Undoubtedly, it will change you, too.
