It was only a couple of weeks ago that Major League Soccer announced it’s new television deal with NBC to air 45 MLS and 4 USMNT matches across the NBC family of networks starting in 2012. That’s a ways off, but a pretty sick commercial is a good start.
Now all we need is a bomb announcing team of Arlo White and Ray Hudson and the revival of the NBA on NBC theme song (with pre-ESPN Hannah Storm) and we could have America’s new favorite sport… or something.
This television deal brought some hope that the days of cheap production value and mediocre viewer numbers could possibly be over, as long Claudine Keane continues to wear hot pants while her husband bags empty netters for at least a few years to come. Well last night during Sunday Night Football, the masses of preseason throwball lovers got their first taste of what is to come.
